Praktika: self-development as a daily rhythm

Three original programmes — self-coaching, personal growth and spiritual growth — reshaped as short daily practices. Each day gives you a few concrete things to do, an optional journal entry, and progress you can actually see.

  • ContentThree original programmes, 36 cycles taken in sequence.
  • RhythmFour practices per cycle. A cycle is complete after 14 separate days of practice; a missed day doesn’t move you forward, but it doesn’t take anything away either.
  • JournalOptional notes and reflection prompts for each practice.
  • DataStays on your device; the core experience works offline.

Why this app

From reading about it to actually doing it

The app organises the original programmes into small, sequential cycles. There is no need to choose exercises from scratch each day: your current stage has four practices with instructions, explanations and a suggested frequency.

The Today section keeps them within reach throughout the day. After practising, you can mark it done and record observations in your journal, with your practice history available whenever you need it.

Praktika is one of the applied projects of Anton Konnov’s lab. The programmes, the app’s concept and architecture, and its editorial direction are Anton’s own work; AI tools are used in development and in preparing the artwork.

Three programmes

Pick one direction — or follow all three

Each programme has twelve cycles that unlock in order, plus a set of alternative practices you can swap in. Here are a few cycles from each.

Self-coaching

Work, effectiveness, health and creativity

Planning, managing your time and energy, and keeping different areas of life in balance.

  • The Ideal Day
  • Flexible Planning
  • Wheel of Balance

Personal growth

Awareness, goals, relationships and self-worth

Noticing your own thoughts and beliefs, staying in the present moment, and working with goals.

  • Looking in the Mirror
  • Being in the Present Moment
  • Recapitulation

Spiritual growth

Meditation, harmony and life path

Meditative and contemplative practices — an invitation to try, not a prescription.

  • Zazen
  • Metta
  • Letters of Gratitude

Counting the alternatives, the three programmes contain 156 practices. That doesn’t mean 156 tasks in a row: a cycle has four main practices, and an alternative lets you replace one that doesn’t suit you.

How the app works

One day, one cycle

The rhythm is the same in every programme: each day brings a concrete practice, not an abstract plan.

01

Choose a programme and cycle

Start with the first cycle of the programme you pick. Later cycles unlock in order as you practise.

02

Read and do the practice

Each practice comes with a short instruction, a fuller explanation and a suggested frequency, plus health notes and a substitute where relevant. The app supports self-guided work; it is not a replacement for professional help.

03

Mark it done and reflect

Tick the practice off and, if you like, answer its reflection prompt in your journal.

04

See your progress

Each completed practice adds to your experience, points and topic progress — more on each below.

05

Move on to the next cycle

A cycle is complete once you’ve practised on 14 separate days — with a main practice or a suitable alternative. A missed day doesn’t count, but it doesn’t wipe out what you’ve already done.

Game progress

From the familiar to the scale of the universe

The game’s journey is embodied by an entity whose understanding gradually expands to the scale of the universe. At first, its understanding is confined to its own planet; it then reaches a solar system, a galaxy, a galaxy cluster and the universe as a whole.

The five stages represent the entity’s growing awareness and understanding of connections between things. This is an artistic image of development. In the app, levels are earned through completed practices and cycles, not by measuring a person’s awareness.

Experience

Earned for completed practices and cycles; it sets your level and stage. Experience never goes down.

Points

Earned separately and spent in the bonus library — spending them doesn’t reduce your experience. Points come only from practice and have nothing to do with money.

Bonus library

Extra techniques for self-guided work, such as WOOP, Six Thinking Hats and Morning Pages. Once unlocked, a technique stays yours for good.

Topic progress

Shows how many different techniques you’ve tried in each topic, counted separately from repeats of the same practice.
